Final Stages

Hey Everyone!!! It's been awhile since I last posted something. During that time I have been getting ready for my studies in China. I also had the priviledge of taking a weeklong course at the UN in New York City which was an experience that would blow a regular lecture out of the water anytime. Its now down to less than four weeks and I just got my visa in the mail last week. I have spent all spring semester and summer break finishing my paper work and acquiring all of the needed documentation. Now I know why so few people still don't travel or study abroad. The amount of passport photos needed for visas and program has already burned a hole in my wallet.
Anyways here's a little information on the program I chose. I had chosen this program in Nanjing, China through AIFS. The decision was due to its excursions to historic sites like the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an and also the megacities of Shanghai and Beijing. When I was researching programs, most of the websites and programs seemed incomplete. Finally, only two Nanjing programs had come up that looked really legitimate and were both sponsored by CSU (my school): AIFS and CIEE. CIEE was nice, except it seemed less worth the money with trips only to nearby villages instead of the major destinations. Neither of the two programs were considerably cheaper than the other. Although I know that it was not the cheapest choice or maybe the best deal for the money, there was a lot less redtape that I had to crawl through w/ my school. They say that things are always what you make of it so I'll keep that in mind. I will be posting more as the time draws nearer. Cheers!!!
